Students’ success at 1st CISM Pre-Education Cadet Schools Tournament in Tula

Students of the Military Grammar School and Secondary Vocational Military School "1300 Corporals" have achieved notable success at the 1st CISM Pre-Education Cadet Schools Tournament, organized by the International Military Sports Council (CISM), which takes place from June 22 to 30 in Tula, Russian Federation.
Besides the Serbian delegation, high school students from eight other CISM member countries have participated in this unique international sporting event: the host country - Russian Federation, Mozambique, Belarus, North Korea, Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Burkina Faso.

In order to secure a place on the podium and raise the prestige of their respective schools, students competed on the modern sports courts of the Suvorov Military School in the following sports: athletics (100, 200, 400 and 1000 metres, Swedish relay, long jump and shot put), swimming (50 and 100 meters in all styles and 4x50 meter relay), volleyball, shooting (air rifle and pistol) and boxing.

On the very first, Serbian team entered the history of this competition when Dragana Dimić, a Military Grammar School student, took third place in the 100-metre race. She proved that she was extremely talented the next day when she won a gold medal in the long jump.

Besides her, the Serbian team composed of Marko Cmiljanić, Aleksandar Srejić and Stefan Jeremić from the Secondary Vocational Military School "1300 Corporals" and Vuk Cvijanović from the Military Grammar School won third place in the Swedish relay.

The Serbian delegation took third place in team athletics based on total scores achieved.

Adrijan Radenković, a Military Grammar School student, took fourth place in the 50-metre breaststroke. The competition in this event was fierce, as testified by the fact that the times of the first three finishing swimmers fulfilled the qualification standards for the European Championship.

Certainly the best part of the competition was making new acquaintances, socializing with fellow-students from other military schools and making fond memories of participating in the first competition for military high school students from around the world. By achieving such a notable success, our military high school students demonstrated an exceptional level of physical fitness and worthily represented the Military Academy and the Republic of Serbia.
